MEET… Adam Friedmann, Service Administrator
It’s amazing what you learn about your colleagues at the water cooler. This month, we’re getting to know our new Service Administrator, Adam Friedmann.
So Adam, how long have you been at Form1 and what were you doing before you arrived here? I’ve been here since June (2018). My previous role was Operations Manager of a small business that assisted Australian companies with their exports all over the globe.
What does a typical day look like? Clearing jobs, answering emails, taking calls, raising service calls, training and lots of other tasks to assist my team.
How did you find out about the job at Form1? I found out about the job through an ad on SEEK. I reviewed the website from start to finish and was really impressed by the large focus on the company’s employee-centred culture.
How did you get the training and experience for the role? All of my learning has been on the job, either through training with other colleagues or learning through experience. I have several years of admin experience, so I was able to quickly adapt to the new system. I did a couple of years of an electrical apprenticeship 10 years ago, which has come in handy for understanding some of the more technical information.
What are your top three, best things about Form1? 1. The people – everyone is super friendly and fun to work with 2. The culture – team-based work environment where everyone is willing to lend a hand. 3. The challenge – coming into a brand-new industry where there’s heaps to learn.
What is one little known fact you’re happy to share about yourself? I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie.
When you’re not at work, where will we find you? Playing tennis, studying part-time (currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in HR at Macquarie University), or working on the next Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) conference as a volunteer facilitator.
Who do you sit next to at work? Tell us something fun about them. Kristina – she used to be the singer of a rock band.
Give us two things on your bucket list. I’d like to fly to Peru and hike the Inca trail to Machu Picchu and go canyoning.
What’s one thing you wish you could do everyday… Sleep in!
What did you want to be when you were younger? A pilot.
What’s the favourite thing in your house? My wife – according to my wife…
Last meal you made? Steak, grilled zucchini and sweet potato.
How do you have your coffee? I don’t drink coffee, I’m a tea kind of guy.
What gets you out of bed in the morning? Currently, my alarm clock… soon it will be a crying baby!
What was the latest app you downloaded? Words With Friends.
