Lifeline Classic is a fun community surf event that raises money for Lifeline Northern Beaches. For the past two years Form1 has proudly supported Man Anchor to raise funds and awareness.
This year, on Sunday, September 18, at Queenscliff Beach in Sydney our team took out 1st Place in the Open Division – this is the third year Man Anchor have won the competition.
“The Lifeline Classic is a fantastic day out where our community comes together to support those in need,” says Man Anchor Founder, Steve Gamble.
Lifeline is a fantastic national charity that provides 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services to all Australians experiencing emotional distress.
“We are so proud to be part of this event every year. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to support Lifeline Northern Beaches,” says Form1 Group CEO, Steve Shirlaw.
This year Form1 raised over $7000 and with over 900 donations, Lifeline Classic raised over $138,000 for Lifeline Northern Beaches.

Supporting those in need
Lifeline says, ‘We exist so that no person in Australia has to face their darkest moments alone.’
Lifeline crisis support services are free, or low-cost, but also currently higher than ever. In the past year Lifeline have:
- Answered more than 74,000 crisis calls
- Answered more than 40,000 Lifeline Texts
- Increased counselling services by 150%
- Held more than 2,500 face-to-face sessions
Lifeline receives over 3000 calls each day and since the COVID-19 health pandemic hit Australia, Lifeline has experienced a 44 per cent growth in service demand.
With events like the Lifeline Classic we can all play a part in supporting these essential services.
